Just spotted a new website launched for a town just up the road from me.
It is called about www.aboutdoverkent.co.uk and will be a tourist information site when it is finished much like the one called about deal which is run by the same people.
Dover is quite an important town on the South Kent coast. The port of Dover is one of the busiest ports in the world.
As a local it affords a great opportunity to pop over the channel to stock up on Beer and fine wines (and coffee!)
You can actually see France on a clear day from the top of the White Cliffs of Dover which is quite impressive really. The town of Dover has also seen much regeneration with more planned in the near future down on the seafront section of the town so it is an exciting time for the town.
There is a lot to do and see in Dover with everything from Museums to Sports facilities and lots of shopping opportunities. There are also some nice places to eat around the town and on the outskirts. We quite like the Kittiwake at Whitfield village, the Brewers Fayre at the top of Jubilee way and Bluebirds on the seafront road.
Dover town has seen a lot of changes and improvements over the years and the Whitfield business park hosts quite a few large stores.
It looks like there is a website appearing for every town in the UK somewhere. I find these independently run sites quite informative and useful, a lot more so than the official or sponsored sites.
