The heartwarming story of a romantic and humble chauffeurs daughter growing up with with her father who works within the estate of one of the richest families around. She goes to Paris a little girl and return a young lady and precedes to charm the Laraby family whom she had grown up with but had up till now completely ignored her.

The original Hepburn film was brilliant but looks dated by modern standards this remake is faithful to the original and brings the classic firmly up to date.

The characters are gradually introduced and there are a fair few twists in the plot (I don't want to give too much away here) .

This film is brilliant - don't miss it!

Other films worth watching of this genre - Paris when it sizzles, Sleepless in Seattle, IQ, While you were sleeping, Funny Face.

Picture:

 Picture quality was fairly average for a video cd but clear and sharp.

Sound:

 There was a discernable hiss in the soundtrack which the treble & bass controls suppressed.

Overall:

 A great film for romantics and those romantic at heart. This is definitely faithful to the original Hepburn original.

The video cd movies come in English without subtitles (except for a few selected titles). The exchange rate is excellent so you get more for your money. Due to a large pirate video cd problem the official releases have to be sold at really low prices to compete. Most movies are released here long before they are officially released in the UK.

Videocd shipments take about 5-10 days to arrive which isn't bad but customs inspections can cause delays. To my knowledge all of the stores we list sell original disks - I do not condone piracy as it amounts to theft. Please do not ask me about where to buy pirate videocds or where to buy pirate dvd- I do not know where to buy them and if I did I would report it to the authorities.
