Bicentennial man review

September 12th, 2007 · No Comments

Andrew is a unique machine with real emotions, a sense of humour and a burning curiosity to discover what it really means to be a human.

Over the course of his service spanning two hundreds years and several generations, Andrew discovers much about the intricacy’s of life and love, and finds there are many things he can teach as well as learn.

This is one of the saddest (most depressing) films I have ever seen, but it still manages to pack in some good laughs.

This film is good but make sure you have a large supply of tissues – don’t miss it!

The time machine review

September 12th, 2007 · No Comments

Based on the original H G Wells classic novel – The Time Machine.

What’s done is done or is it? Alexander Hartdegen builds a fantastic machine to undo a devestating personal tragedy by travelling through time.

After a visit to the past an accident hurls the inventor into the distant future where humanity is facing certain doom.

The acting was good and this film really pulls you into the gripping story. The scenes are breathtaking and the period costume of the inventor has been meticulously researched. Although the plot becomes a little scrambled towards the end of the film.

Fans of the original 1960′s film may well be dissapointed with this modern adaptation of Wells fantastic story.

Spiderman the movie

September 12th, 2007 · No Comments

Peter Parker – a shy nerdy teenager was bitten by a genetically altered spider etc… (the original comic book was radioactive spider – but I suppose that things move on!)

So is this any good – we have waited about 20 years for the movie – in the main it delivers – action romance and humour. The clever but not totally convincing computer animation this movie brings spiderman to life as he swings between buildings.

He is a little darker on the screen (mood not colour!!!) than in the original cartoon series and the story is well paced and amusing as he comes to terms with his remarkable new powers!

Spiderman faces the Green Goblin his long time arch enemy.

This is a definite addition to any ones movie collection. Fans of the original will not be disappointed although there is a strong scene that may not be suitable for younger members of the family hence its 12a rating.

A great site aimed at student artists. There is a section containing art posters for sale and order fulfullment is from Allposters.com and they also link to relevent pages on Amazon should you be searching for a book about your artist.

The site has been running for a number of years now and has built a good reputation with its members. The site also contains a directory of art galleries from around the world and includes links to artists sites.

ArtyCity are still taking submissions of new work from artists but unusually have a very strict acceptance criterion relating to acceptable content of pictures. It does ensure that the site remains family friendly and accessible to all. Give them a visit and seek some inspiration or just buy cheap art posters.

The Amazon site analyses your selections and uses this to provide personal recommendations on your next visit. Amazon are expanding and sell almost everything you could want so is useful if you want to wait in for just 1 delivery of many different items.

TOP TIP: Due to the extensive range of titles it is not always easy remembering what you want so keep your wishlist updated and when you get some cash spend away. I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve ordered something only to remember another must have title that I wanted a few days after delivery.Prices are very good and I am unable to fault their excellent customer service and fast delivery.

This site has been really neglected over the years. :( Sadly I’ve been busy on other projects and the content of this site has become rather stale. I’m impressed that I have had over 2,045,879 unique visitors since the site launched and given  almost 4,000,000 page impressions so I feel that I owe my visitors at least a fresh update of the site. It really is time to kick things off again.  The site was  devised  to provide information, price comparisons and DVD reviews. This is something it  will continue to provide and I  am hoping to add to the content on a regular basis. I will include any items that I  feel are interesting, special offers and I will throw in a  feature site now and then if it has something  special to offer. The big initial job is transferring much of the original content to this new site and indexing it correctly.
