Careline alarm pendants for the elderly

March 2nd, 2012 · No Comments

If you have elderly relatives then one of your biggest concerns is that they fall or trip and cannot make it to the telephone. Many serious injuries happen in this way each year and as help is often called far to late serious complications can arise.

There are now many careline pendent alarms and wrist pendants you can buy which allow one click access to an emergency response room. False alarms are easily dealt with as the careline will generally ring the persons home to see if they are ok or need assistance. If this call is not answered then the nominated emergency contact on the list will be called where  a visit can be arranged along with medical attention or attendance by the emergency services.

Pendant alarms can be worn on a cord around the neck or the can be worn on a strap around the wrist, much like a watch. If you sign up for a careline alarm you must make sure your relative wears the pendant otherwise there is no point having it. They will also need to build up some confidence in the service otherwise they may still try to reach the telephone causing further pain, complications or injury.

There are many providers of careline pendant alarm systems around and most will charge a modest monthly fee. We have featured telecare24 because you can sign up online and get the whole package through and setup in a very short period of time. A lot of providers will take your order online and they send you out a large amount of forms to complete and fill in.

Choose your provider carefully and ensure that you choose a company that you are happy with.
