This
is the 1999 movie based on Cleopatra. Timothy Dalton stars as Julius Caeser.
This movie is massive - spanning 4 disks. Each disk contains an episode
of the story each with it's own sub plot. The second part was a little weak on plot but the overall movie was excellent. This movie tells the story of Cleopatra (- with a sprinkling of Hollywood additions - ok so there's not much historical accuracy here but who cares!) The cleopatra rolling out of a rug scene was well executed although lifted from an earlier movie and there were lot's of other nice touches. |

No expense was spared on the scenery and costumes and thankfully the DVD picture quality is very good throughout. The movie lends itself nicely to the DVD format. | |||||

If you like classic movie remakes then this is a must buy. But if you are an action fan and enjoyed other Roman epics I doubt that you would find much here to appeal to you. It is the sort of film that I could happily watch when I was at home in bed with the flu! | |||||
